Business And Data Process Improvement Program

The Business and Data Process Improvement Program (BDPIP) has been established by NEMMCO at the request of the IEC and RMEC following their endorsement of the Business and Data Process Analysis (B&DPA) project recommendations. The B&DPA project considered current process and data issues, the impact of interval metering and other developments in the NEM in order to identify cost-effective business and data process improvements.

The BDPIP Program Plan identifies the program goal, confirms the range of issues that will be addressed by the program and provides details of the objectives, deliverables, benefits, program structure and schedule to guide project managers and reference groups in the execution of business and data process improvements.

The objectives of the BDPIP program are based on addressing the NEM objective using a methodical approach ranging from the identification of issues, through to implementation of changes. The program objectives have been developed to provide a sound framework for delivering more efficient outcomes in the retail market. The initial focus of the program is on those enhancement projects with smart metering implications, and the development of process and procedure change proposals for approval by the IEC and RMEC for consultation.

Subsequent phases of work will address consultation and implementation changes, and other enhancement projects. Further information is provided under BDPIP Program Plan (below).
