Regional Boundaries and Marginal Loss Factors for the 2007/08 Financial Year

In April 2007 NEMMCO published version 1.0 of the "List of Regional Boundaries and Marginal Loss Factors for the 2007/08 Financial Year" containing the following changes from the 2006/07 Financial Year loss factors:

  • Reduction in losses in North Queensland and South East Queensland
  • Higher transfers from Queensland to NSW and two new embedded generators in Northern NSW have resulted in significant loss reduction in Northern and North West NSW
  • Higher transfers from Victoria to South Australia and new wind farms have resulted in significant loss reduction in the Southern area of South Australia.
  • Better data from record and improved forecast for the wind farms in the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia have resulted in better loss factor outcome.
  • Further increase in Bell Bay output, Basslink import (these data were not available previously) and an additional wind farm in Tasmania have resulted in changes in the Southern and Western areas.

Version 2.0 of the document contains the following updates:

  • 2007-08 Distribution Loss Factors for embedded scheduled generation are now available for all regions
  • De-activated connection points have been removed from Appendix A
  • New connection point Huon River THR2 has been added to Appendix A
