The purpose of this procedure is to provide NEMMCO operations staff with information related to load forecasting for the National Electricity Market. The procedure outlines NEMMCO's responsibility to load forecasting, the load forecasting methodology adopted by NEMMCO and the IT systems developed to assist operations staff.
Future developments of this procedure may include the medium term forecasting methodology, the 10%, 50% and 90% scaling factors and long term mean temperature data.
The South Australian and New South Wales regional scaling factors are now included and the short term forecasting process has been updated to include peer review.
