At 14:14 hours (EST) on 30 January 2008, Mount Piper to Marulan (35) 330 kV transmission line and Mount Piper 330 kV Main Bus tripped simultaneously. Lightning storms were detected in the area. There was no loss of load due to the outages.
This report has been prepared under clause 4.8.15 of the Rules to assess the adequacy of the provision and response of facilities and services and the appropriateness of actions taken to restore or maintain power system security.
