Substitution Estimation & Validation Procedure

This procedure must be used by Metering Data Providers for undertaking the substitution, estimation and validation of metering data for metering installation types 1 - 7. This procedure is to be read and used in conjunction with respective Service Level Requirements and NEM Metrology Procedure: Part A.

Several versions of this procedure entitled 'The NEM Metering Data Substitution, Estimation and Validation Procedure', NEMMCO document No.MT_MA1680, have been in force since the start of the NEM. A copy of the last publication, version 3.1, effective from September 2001 is available for reference below.

Review of metering data substitution, estimation and validation processes for Metering Data Providers was recently undertaken by the Metering Services Working Group in 2007-08. This review resulted in the document being incorporated into the metrology procedure as a separate volume called Metrology Procedure: Part B National Electricity Market Metering Data Validation, Substitution and Estimation for metering Types 1 - 7. This new procedure, has been released as version 4 of the same NEMMCO document No.MT_MA1680, is effective from the 31st July 2008 and supersedes all previous versions of the NEM Metering Data Substitution, Estimation and Validation Procedure.
