The TNI is used in all registrations and transfers of connection points within the NEM to facilitate market settlements processes. It identifies the points at which the intra-regional loss factors apply.
Each and every registered National Metering Identifier (NMI) must be referenced to its correct TNI. Note that the Power System Planning document "Marginal Loss Factors and Regional Boundaries" lists the TNIs against the loss factors.
