7 Day Forecast
The PASA processes provide forecast information on the supply / demand balance in the electricity market. PASA stands for Projected Assessment of System Adequacy. The short term PASA public report contains information on every half-hour for the next seven days. NEMMCO has extracted from the public report relevant data concerning the forecast peak period in each region of the NEM.
Medium Term Outlook
The MT PASA process is run at least once a week and provides a reserve forecast for the two year period from the coming Sunday. The graphs provide a summary of the latest MT PASA results for the next twelve months for QLD, NSW, VIC/SA combined and TAS.
In accordance with the Rules definition of "PASA availability" the MT PASA process only considers the availability of generation that can be made available within 24 hours. In some circumstances there can be plant that is available in slightly longer than 24 hours that is not included in the MT PASA assessment but can still make a contribution to the system reserves.
